What are the responsibilities and job description for the Locate Technician (Gas) position at N&S LOCATING SERVICES LLC?
Position Summary:
The Locate Technician will oversee assigned locate requests daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages ticket routing per service area.
- Responds to customer queries in a timely manner and communicates with the team.
- Responsible for field safety, locate request, vehicle safety, and vehicle maintenance.
- Maintains a clean vehicle.
- Projects a positive image of the organization to customers, industry, and community.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods of driving, walking, and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
Skills and Experience:
- Proficient knowledge of all locatable facilities (gas, electric, communication, copper, fiber, water and sewer.
- Sound verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound diplomacy skills.
- Skilled in Excl and locate ticket management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of various facility records/prints.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work forty (40) hours a week, overtime and be On-Call as required.
- Must be able to travel from time to time.
- Basic knowledge of underground infrastructure.
- Basic knowledge of Electromagnetic Theory.
- Basic computer knowledge (email, excel and software, pdf, kmz, JPEG).
- Must be able to work outside in the elements.
