We are seeking a licensed and experienced Supervising Pharmacist to oversee daily pharmacy operations in Linden, NJ. The Supervising Pharmacist will ensure compliance with all New Jersey Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and company policies while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and customer service.
This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to supervise staff while supporting efficient pharmacy workflow and patient-centered care.
Key ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Operations & Compliance
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations in compliance with NJ Board of Pharmacy regulations and federal guidelines.
- Ensure adherence to controlled substance policies, inventory management, and recordkeeping standards.
- Oversee prescription verification, dispensing accuracy, labeling, and medication safety protocols.
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy audits, inspections, and quality assurance requirements.
Clinical & Patient Care
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients.
- Review prescriptions for interactions, allergies, contraindications, and therapeutic appropriateness.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and resolve medication-related concerns.
- Support immunization services and medication therapy management (if applicable).
Staff Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and support staff.
- Train and mentor staff to ensure excellent customer service and workflow efficiency.
- Assist with scheduling, staff coverage, and pharmacy performance monitoring.
- Promote a professional and collaborative work environment.
Inventory & Workflow Management
- Oversee ordering, receiving, and inventory control of prescription medications and supplies.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and expiration monitoring of medications.
- Maintain efficient workflow processes to reduce wait times and improve customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Pharmacist License (required).
- PharmD degree from an accredited school of pharmacy (preferred).
- Strong understanding of pharmacy law, compliance standards, and prescription processing.
- Immunization certification (preferred).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Supervisory or pharmacy management experience.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems Micromerchant (PrimeRx and PrimePOS)
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
