N.A.L. Company, Inc. is a growing paperboard converting and packaging manufacturer located in Mt. Orab, Ohio. We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and mechanically inclined Slitter/Rewinder Operator to join our production team on 1st shift.
This position is responsible for operating slitting and rewinding equipment to convert paperboard and specialty packaging materials into finished products that meet customer specifications and quality requirements. Position Summary
The Slitter/Rewinder Operator is responsible for the safe setup, operation, monitoring, and adjustment of slitting and rewinding equipment while maintaining quality, productivity, and safety standards.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSafety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE and maintain a safe work environment.
- Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Report equipment, quality, or safety concerns immediately.
Machine Operation
- Set up slitter/rewinder equipment according to production specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders, job tickets, production schedules, and quality specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary.
- Perform complete machine make-readies, product changeovers, and shutdown procedures.
- Ensure proper roll tension, slit quality, rewinding quality, and finished product appearance.
- Package, label, and prepare finished products for shipment or inventory.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct required quality checks throughout production runs.
- Verify dimensions, widths, roll diameters, footage, and product specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot quality issues before they reach customers.
- Complete production paperwork accurately and on time.
Productivity & Housekeeping
- Maintain production efficiency and waste reduction standards.
- Assist with material handling and inventory movement as needed.
- Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
- Support team productivity goals and on-time order completion.
Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine machine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
- Work closely with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret production documents and specifications.
- Basic math skills including fractions, decimals, and measurements.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/32".
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and climb throughout the shift.
Preferred
- 1-3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Previous slitter, rewinder, paper converting, printing, packaging, or corrugated industry experience.
- Forklift certification or experience.
- Experience with quality inspection procedures and production reporting systems.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
