The role oversees pre-construction development and planning, EPC contract management, reporting, safety compliance, schedule performance, and budget adherence to ensure successful project delivery from pre-construction through commissioning.Responsibilities:
- Manage construction activities for renewable and thermal generation projects, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets are met.
- Coordinate with development, engineering, procurement, and finance teams to transition projects from development to construction.
- Oversee EPC and subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual, technical, and safety requirements.
- Lead site mobilization, logistics, and construction sequencing in alignment with project milestones.
- Develop and track detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Manage RFIs, change orders, and progress payments in collaboration with the project controls team.
- Lead regular progress meetings, issue tracking, and reporting to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Support grid interconnection activities and testing/commissioning in coordination with utilities and ISO representatives.
- Facilitate turnover to operations and maintenance teams upon project completion.Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 6 years managing utility-scale energy construction projects, including both renewable and thermal generation.
- Strong knowledge of EPC contract management and project delivery methods
- Proficiency in project scheduling and cost control software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel).
- Demonstrated understanding of grid interconnection, commissioning, and QA/QC processes.
- Experience with environmental and permitting compliance during construction phases.
- Excellent leadership, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with both fossil and renewable generation plant construction would be a plus
- Familiarity with ERCOT or ISO project interconnection and testing requirements preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification would be a plus, but not required
- Experience in contract negotiation and claims management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and site teams concurrently.
