Job Description:
This position responsible for producing high-quality medical devices within a cleanroom manufacturing cell. The Operator will work under close supervision to perform assembly, repair, and test operations on pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related assemblies according to standardized procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine assembly, repair, and testing of medical device components following approved procedures and documentation.
- Maintain accuracy in job documentation, traveler records, and quality documents to ensure product traceability and compliance.
- Follow all safety and cleanroom protocols, including proper gowning and use of protective equipment.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding process issues, ideas, and improvements.
- Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to enhance production quality and efficiency.
- Support Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements.
- Use electronic data collection systems and basic computer software to record production and quality information.
- Prioritize work effectively to meet production goals while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Handle and assemble small, delicate components using microscopes and hand tools.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must meet a 7th grade reading and comprehension level.
- Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to read and follow written procedures and verbal instructions in English.
- Must be able to distinguish colors for labeling and inspection tasks.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
- Flexibility to work overtime as required (weekly overtime is common).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Dress Code / Cleanroom Requirements:
Candidates must be cleanroom ready for interviews and work. The following rules apply:
- No makeup, perfume, cologne, or scented products.
- Clothing must be non-shedding, clean, and free of loose threads, glitter, sequins, or decorative items.
- No fleece, sweaters, or loose-knit garments.
- Pants or skirts must cover legs to the ankle; no shorts or sleeveless tops.
- Closed-toe, flat shoes required (no sandals, heels, or open designs).
- No nail polish, acrylic or artificial nails.
- Jewelry and visible piercings must be removed or fully covered.
- Head coverings for religious or cultural reasons must be tightly woven, clean, and fully covered by the gowning.
Interview & Selection Notes:
- Candidates must be prepared for a cleanroom tour as part of the interview process.
- Those not meeting gowning or dress requirements will need to be rescheduled.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Preference for candidates with steady work history and interest in long-term career growth.
