Job Overview

The Molding Technician will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining molding equipment used in the production of plastic, rubber, or metal components. The role involves monitoring machine performance, performing mold changes, ensuring product quality, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor injection molding, blow molding, or compression molding machines.
• Perform mold changes, equipment adjustments, and machine setups in alignment with production requirements.
• Troubleshoot machine performance issues, perform minor repairs, and escalate complex technical problems as needed.
• Conduct part inspections using visual checks and measurement tools to verify compliance with specifications.
• Record production data, machine parameters, cycle times, and material consumption accurately.
• Execute preventive maintenance activities on molding machines and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to reduce scrap and optimize processes.
• Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents immediately.
• Provide guidance or basic training to junior operators when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical/vocational training required.
• 1–3 years of experience as a Molding Technician or Machine Operator (injection molding experience preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with molding machinery and associated processes.
• Ability to read technical drawings, work instructions, and use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Working knowledge of plastics processing, mold setup, and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.
• Availability to work shifts or overtime based on production needs.

Job Type: Contract
