Position Summary
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Human Resource Director is an energetic, organized, people-centered member of the leadership team and plays a vital role in creating a workplace culture that supports the YMCA as an employer of choice. This position oversees recruitment, hiring, onboarding, compensation and benefit administration, employee relations, recognition, evaluation, and HR policy development/administration.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field preferred; minimum three years of experience managing people operations. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Experience with all aspects of HR administration, including compliance, hiring, performance management, and pay and benefit administration.

Ability to build relationships across all levels with strong communication skills that align with our values.
Ability to operate strategically, tactically, and operationally.
Experience with ADP or similar HRIS software.
Experience with benefits, compensation, and payroll processes is a plus.

Flexible, responsive, and adaptable to changing business needs.
Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and conflict resolution capabilities.
Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Essential Functions
Create an extraordinary employee experience by aligning people and culture strategies with organizational priorities.
Ensure consistent application and communication of HR policies compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
Develop and implement standard recruitment and hiring procedures; train hiring managers in effective hiring practices.
Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, including new employee orientations, maintenance of employee records, and exit interviews.
Develop and maintain the HRIS employee database; recommend improvements as needed.
Coordinate training and professional development opportunities for staff.
Manage compensation and benefits programs, including job descriptions, salary structures, and salary adjustments; assess program competitiveness and recommend improvements.
Lead and coordinate the annual performance review cycle and broader performance management initiatives.
Develop and execute people initiatives to foster a positive employee culture focused on development and engagement.
Address employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances fairly and timely.
Stay current on changes in employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
Generate HR-related reports as needed.
Administer employee benefits programs, including unemployment and workers' compensation.
Recommend and develop efficient, scalable processes and workflows that meet organizational needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
