About Us Founded in 1998, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) is a public charter school located in Malden, Massachusetts, serving more than 1,750 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Students in Grades K–12 attend school in dress code and benefit from a rigorous 200-day academic calendar. In addition, the school day is approximately one hour longer than that of most traditional public schools. Position Overview The Latin Teacher is responsible for implementing Mystic Valley Regional Charter School's Latin program for students in Grades 7–12. Instruction is delivered in accordance with the school's Core Knowledge curriculum and methodology. At the high school level, assignments may include courses within the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme, one of the most rigorous and respected academic programs in the world. Essential Responsibilities Implement the Latin curriculum in accordance with established Core Knowledge and, when applicable, International Baccalaureate standards. Deliver engaging, content-rich instruction aligned to clearly defined learning objectives. Plan and teach daily lessons that promote student mastery of Latin language and classical studies. Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records of achievement through progress reports, report cards, and other required documentation. Collaborate regularly with members of the Languages Department, including the Department Chair, to ensure consistency in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and methodology. Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and support student growth. Implement the school's assertive discipline model with fidelity to maintain a structured and productive learning environment. Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and other school functions as required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of Latin language and classical studies. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to plan and implement lessons that meet the needs of diverse learners while maintaining high academic standards. Ability to assess student performance, analyze data, and communicate findings effectively. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community members. Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and student success. Knowledge of applicable educational practices, regulations, and policies. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned by the Languages Department Chair, Assistant Director, Assistant Superintendent, and/or Superintendent/Director. Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the Languages Department Chair. Performance will be evaluated annually, and the appointment is renewed on a yearly basis.

Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
