Schedule

  • Although the schedule is fixed there will be times of extended hours or extra days.
  • Associates are expected to be flexible to suit our volume fluctuation.
  • First shift: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., every Saturday 5:00 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Second shift: Monday – Friday 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., every other Saturday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Position Summary

The Forklift Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of palletized products throughout the warehouse. Associates must operate company equipment in accordance with all safety standards, productivity expectations, and operational procedures established by Mystic. Forklift Drivers are expected to perform all assigned warehouse functions, use handheld RF scanning technology, and maintain a professional, team-oriented work environment.


Equipment Operation and Safety

Forklift Drivers will operate the following sit-down forklift equipment:

  • Propane Forklift: Toyota Model 50-8FGCU20
  • Electric Forklift: Raymond Model 446-C40TT

All associates are required to follow safety protocols as outlined during orientation and mandatory forklift training. Associates must always operate equipment safely and according to all company procedures.

Associates are not authorized to perform maintenance or repairs on any equipment. Drivers are responsible for conducting required pre-shift equipment inspections and promptly notifying their supervisor of any equipment defects, malfunctions, or failed inspection items.

Additional safety procedures, equipment requirements, and operational expectations may be introduced periodically. Associates are expected to attend all required meetings and comply with any new policies, procedures, or training requirements.


Productivity Expectations

All associates are expected to maintain productivity levels consistent with established building and shift performance standards. Productivity expectations may fluctuate based on seasonal demands and normal variations in product flow.

Associates whose performance falls below expected standards will be notified and may receive additional coaching or training.


Essential Job Functions

Forklift Drivers are expected to perform all warehouse functions listed below. Each task requires the use of a handheld RF scanner, and training on scanner operation will be provided during the associate's first week of employment.

1. Truck Unloading (approx. 10%)

  • Unload palletized products from inbound trailers.
  • Follow all unloading procedures as trained during orientation.
  • Secure trailers before unloading begins.
  • Retrieve and properly handle trays or materials that may have fallen from pallets.
  • Perform work both inside the warehouse and outside at the trailer as required.

2. Truck Loading (approx. 10%)

  • Load palletized products into outbound trailers.
  • Secure trailers as required before loading operations.
  • Retrieve and properly handle trays or materials that may have fallen from pallets.
  • Use RF scanners to scan pallet labels as products are loaded into trailers.
  • Follow all loading procedures as taught during orientation.
  • Perform work both inside the warehouse and outside at the trailer as required.

3. Put away Operations (approx. 10%)

  • Transport pallets from staging areas to designated storage locations.
  • Use the RF scanner to receive work assignments and location instructions.
  • Accurately place pallets into assigned warehouse locations.
  • Follow all putaway procedures as trained during orientation.

4. Order Picking (approx. 60%)

  • Use RF scanners and standard pick tickets to locate and select customer orders.
  • Scan pallet labels as required during the picking process.
  • Build customer orders accurately and maintain neat, organized pallet configurations.
  • Transfer trays of mail or product from one pallet to another when required.
  • Hand-wrap completed pallet loads to ensure product stability and safe transportation.

Additional Duties (approx. 10%)

Associates may be required to perform other warehouse-related duties as business needs dictate. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • General warehouse housekeeping and cleanup.
  • Picking up and restacking trays or products that have fallen from improperly stacked pallets.
  • Assisting with inventory organization.
  • Supporting operational projects and other job-related tasks as assigned by management.


Requirements:

 

Attendance Expectations

Associates are expected to maintain regular and dependable attendance. Excessive absenteeism, call-offs, or tardiness may result in corrective action in accordance with company policy. Associates will be notified if attendance or punctuality concerns arise.


Work Environment and Professional Conduct

All associates are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner while working with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and visitors.

Each shift is supported by assigned supervisors and team leads. Associates will be introduced to their leadership team during orientation and should communicate any questions, concerns, or operational issues through appropriate channels.


Training and Progression

The Forklift Driver training program includes the following steps:

  1. Initial Interview -Evaluation of the associate's skills, experience, and capabilities.
  2. Forklift Safety Training - Completion of required forklift safety videos and written examination.
  3. Hands-On Equipment Training - Practical instruction on operating Toyota propane and Raymond electric sit-down forklifts.
  4. Paired Job Introduction - Approximately one week of guided training alongside an experienced associate covering all job functions.
  5. RF Scanner Training - Instruction on handheld scanner operation and warehouse system processes.
  6. Supervisor Orientation Review - Final review with a supervisor to ensure understanding of workplace standards, safety requirements, productivity expectations, and job responsibilities.

Successful completion of all training requirements is necessary before associates are authorized to independently perform forklift operations and related warehouse functions.
