What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN/LPN/CMA Pod Nurse position at Myrtue Medical Center?
SCHEDULE:
Full-time; 36 hours per week; Monday - Thursday; Monday - Wednesday - Days; Thursday - 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Pod CMA/LPN/RN Clinic Nurse is of prime importance in helping the medical provider respond successfully to the increasing demands for his/her services and will practice within the scope of licensure.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program possessing a current Iowa Nursing license or graduate of medical assistant training - possessing certification.
The Pod Nurse obtains medical histories from patients and records briefly in chart. Teaches patients about diseases, medication, tests and procedures. Documents completely and appropriately all medication or other pertinent changes of care in patient's chart. Applies knowledge of illnesses, injuries and diseases, using available resources in the assessment process. Documents nursing intervention, patient response, effectiveness, complications, etc. Communicates information to peers, supervisors, medical providers. Prepares patient for examination. Competent within scope of practice for care of all ages of patients (infant, pediatric, adult, geriatric). Participates in QI/RM efforts for the Clinic.
The Clinic RN Nurse assists with the following customer service recovery issues; port flushes/draws determined in accordance with protocols and practitioner's order as well as 24-hour blood pressure monitoring set up and reporting.
