This is a full-time, on-site position based at Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC. As a Sous Chef, you will oversee culinary operations, collaborate with the Executive Chef to design menus, and ensure high-quality food preparation. Daily responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. You will also support training new team members and contribute to continuous menu and process improvement.
- Extensive cooking expertise, including mastery of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety.
- Experience in menu development, food costing, and inventory management.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills to manage and train kitchen staff effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and the ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to efficiently oversee multiple tasks and operations.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in culinary practices and menu design.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or Sous Chef role in a hospitality or restaurant setting is preferred.
