Position Title: Grounds & Security Supervisor

Position Pay Range: $32.00 - $33.95 per hour

Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining the Home’s exterior appearance, landscaping, grounds, and safety while overseeing daily security operations. This position supervises groundskeeping and security staff, ensures a safe and welcoming environment for residents, guests and employees, and maintains compliance with The Myron Stratton Home’s standards and safety protocols.

Must have ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs.

Primary Job Duties

Groundskeeping Supervision (75%)

Essential Functions

Supervise and schedule groundskeeping staff.

Oversee landscaping, irrigation, mowing, trimming, and seasonal planting.

Ensure all campus grounds, parking lots, walkways, recreational areas, and exterior facilities are clean and well-maintained.

Inspect grounds daily; identify and execute maintenance needs.

Coordinate snow removal, leaf removal, and seasonal property preparation.

Manage equipment maintenance and inventory of landscaping supplies.

Monitor/upkeep irrigation systems and manage water conservation efforts.

Security Operations Supervision (25%)

Essential Functions

Supervise security officers and patrol personnel.

Develop and manage security schedules to provide adequate coverage.

Ensure premises are secure by conducting routine patrols of campus property, monitoring any campus alarms and accessing control systems. Prepare incident reports and maintain security records.

Respond to emergencies, guest concerns, accidents, disturbances, and security incidents, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.

Maintains organization stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements. Ensure compliance with emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures.

Duties and Tasks: Follows existing policies, practices, and procedures. Refers questions and problems through appropriate chain of command. Identifies and reports quality concerns. Completes other reasonable duties at the discretion of management.

Team Leadership

· Hire, train, coach, and evaluate groundskeeping and security staff.

· Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.

· Enforce company policies and departmental procedures.

· Promote exceptional guest service and professional conduct.

· Maintain positive working relationships across all departments.

Safety and Compliance

· Ensure OSHA and workplace safety compliance.

· Identify and mitigate property hazards.

· Conduct regular safety inspections.

· Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

· Support risk management initiatives and accident prevention programs.

High School Required

LICENSE

Valid Driver’s License Required

CERTIFICATIONS

Required certifications must be completed within 120 days of employment

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification Required

CPR, First Aid, and AED certification Required

FEMA Incident Command System (ICS 100/200) Preferred

Pesticide Applicator License Preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE

5 years of supervisory experience in groundskeeping and security, or a related field, such as facilities management. Required

Resort, golf course, hotel, campus, or property management experience. Required

Security certification or law enforcement/military background, including experience with surveillance and access control systems. Required

Landscape / landscape management experience. Required

SKILLS

Good communication skills, both oral and written

Must be able to pass a commercial auto insurance policy DMV background check in order to drive company vehicles/equipment off property.

Must be able to stand and sit for extended period of time.

Have the ability to hear and talk with residents, staff and the general public.

Must be able to walk to and from the Maintenance Office to various areas on the Myron Stratton Home campus.

Requires someone with critical thinking skills who can quickly observe a situation and make the appropriate response.

Skilled in computed use and more than capable of communicating in writing.

The Myron Stratton Home is required to follow all CDPHE mandates required of Assisted Living Facilities operating under a State CDPHE license.

Adherence to ALL relevant sector CDPHE guidelines in effect as may change in the future.

You will be asked to provide the following upon offer of employment:

1. Authorization to work in the United States

2. Authorization to request a Criminal Background report

3. Authorization to request a Colorado Adult Protective Services background report (in the case of position of direct resident care-such as nursing).
