Parts Store Manager
SUMMARY: Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the store. Works with Director of Operations and Retail and Territory Sales Managers to develop strategies to improve customer service, drive additional store sales, increase profitability by controlling costs, create store policies and marketing programs that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base. Maintains high store standards, ensures that all customer needs are met and service is quick and efficient. Directs attached warehouse and delivery operations in a safe, clean, organized, efficient manner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure Store performs to expected financial standards, with growing revenue and well-managed operating expenses
· Actively work with outside sales team to fulfill customer needs
· Participate in promoting the store to customer base
· Assist walk-in and telephone customers; help solve their application needs
· Ability to troubleshoot and make suggestions for customer solutions
· Ensure customer orders are pulled from stock according to picking/fulfillment instructions
· Help maintain inventory levels in the store
· Maintain merchandising within the store (rotating end caps, keeping displays full, clean, and organized, replenishing a product information library, keeping signage current, etc.)
· Oversee and participate in the bulk picking, shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, and checking in merchandise
· Establish standards and sort and place merchandise on racks, shelves, or in bins according to those standards
· Oversee and participate in packing and preparing orders for shipping; check packing lists
· Record amounts of items received or distributed in computerized inventory control system
· Conduct cycle counts
· Participate in required training and acquire certifications as directed by management
· Performs other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Directly supervise Store counter, warehouse and driver staff
· Responsible for adequately staffing the Store to ensure quality service while maximizing efficiency
· Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience with heavy duty trucking, automotive, marine, industrial equipment a plus
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, shipping manifests, packing lists and/or shipping lists
· Basic math skills with ability to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide
· Previous experience in a warehouse environment and experience with multi-carrier shipping systems preferred
· Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point, inventory and warehouse management systems,
· Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or two or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Salary $80k-$90k annually, based on experience, and a comprehensive package of benefits.
