Overview Homes for Independent Living (HIL) is hiring a Trainer working with our DSP's (Caregivers) and more! The Trainer is responsible for delivering training for the Company consistent with the mission and vision of the organization. Trainers will be responsible to provide training for new employees and continuing education consistent with Company, regulatory and contractual standards. Primary duties of the Trainer include: · Facilitate classroom, video conference and other media forms of training for employees that address regulatory and job-related trainings in a positive, consistent manner that builds the HIL brand and develops the appropriate job-related skills for successful implementation by employees. · Maintain a working knowledge of HIL’s service delivery structure and client groups supported in order to properly develop employees through the delivery of training curriculum. · Prepare for trainings by reviewing materials, preparing support materials, and assembling needed equipment. Maintain a clean, comfortable and well-organized training area. · Deliver training in an engaging manner, ensuring accuracy and a high level of quality. · Solicit feedback from trainees and managers on ways to improve training curriculum and delivery. Advise managers on appropriate training programs or strategies to address gaps in expertise and to enhance employee performance. · Engage in the creation, monitoring and maintenance of registration and attendance forms, reports and certificates of completion. · Maintain content knowledge for this position and within the work area through continuing education, subscriptions, certifications, licenses, and professional memberships. · Demonstrate and incorporate knowledge of organizational policies, licensing requirements, relevant administrative procedures and Employee Handbook information into training presentations. · Monitor industry best practices to recommend additional training programs or continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in the development of new trainings program curricula. · Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with staff, interacting with them in a sincere and meaningful way while maintaining a professional relationship. Cultivate a positive image of the Company in all interactions with managers and trainees. · Maintain a work schedule that provides ability to meet needs of department and availability to teach assigned courses. · Report allegations of abuse, conflict of interest, harassment, or fraud to appropriate level of management. The Trainer is a critical role that works collaboratively with all company departments. This position reports to the Training Manager, who reports to the Operations Support Director. Qualified individuals will have: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Communication, or a related field. Previous training experience, preferably in healthcare, is required. Training experience in homecare a plus. Is flexible, autonomous, responsive, has sound judgment and a high level of initiative. Must be willing to work flexible hours, which may include evenings and weekends. Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Understanding and working knowledge of adult education concepts and training processes and be able to apply considerable skill and diplomacy in communication.
