Overview Responsible for providing routine medical care to all residents served. Responsible for ordering prescribed medications from the pharmacy; setting up daily medications and administering medications at the prescribed times. Responsible for accurate and timely documentation regarding any medical/health & wellness related issues. Responsible for scheduling physician /APN visits for new admissions as well as annual physical examinations for all residents. Responsible for ensuring residents receive eye and dental according to regulation. Ensures that exams and all orders are accurately documented. Nurses are responsible for entry level processing of new admissions, facilitating timed therapeutic visits departures and returns. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Works as an hourly employee in accordance with the designated shift schedules as determined by the Director of Nursing and the needs of the program. The employee in this position is expected to give two weeks notice prior to voluntary resignation. A probationary period of 120 days is required. Additional Information Qualifications: Registered Nurse. Must possess a current nursing license. Experience/understanding of working with the child/adolescent population. Experience/understanding of working with children and adolescents with emotional/behavioral impairments and other mental health issues. Experience working in a residential treatment facility preferred. Knowledgeable about childhood development. Minimum 21 years of age-meets all facility/licensure regulations for position.
