Role Description
This is a contract, on-site role for a Music Therapist located in Waco, TX. The Music Therapist will utilize music as a therapeutic tool to address the emotional, cognitive, and social needs of clients. Responsibilities include planning and implementing individualized treatment plans, facilitating individual music therapy sessions, documenting client progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support client goals. The therapist will work directly with clients managing mental health challenges, emotional disturbances, or developmental disabilities, tailoring interventions to meet their unique needs.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Music Therapy techniques and a strong foundation in music
- Experience or training in delivering treatments to clients with mental health needs
- Knowledge of approaches to support individuals with developmental disabilities
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Relevant certification as a Music Therapist (e.g., MT-BC) or mental health licensed professional
- Experience working with youth is strongly preferred
- Flexibility to work on-site in Waco, TX
