Grant Writer (NYC/Long Island)

MyndBridge, Inc.
York, NY Contractor
POSTED ON 8/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/31/2026
About MyndBridge

MyndBridge is a workforce development organization that partners with schools, districts, employers, and government agencies to prepare students for careers. We deliver career-readiness and industry-certification programs — in grades 9 through 12 and beyond — that combine hands-on training, nationally recognized credentials, and one-on-one case management to move students from the classroom into real jobs. Grant and public funding are central to how we reach the people who need us most.

Position Summary

The Grant Writer secures the funding that fuels our mission. You will research funding opportunities, write compelling proposals, and manage applications and reports across government, foundation, and corporate sources. This is a growth role: grants are one of our core revenue channels, and the funding you win directly determines how many people we can serve.

You'll work closely with the CEO and program leadership to turn the real outcomes we produce into proposals funders want to say yes to — and partner with our finance and compliance support to make sure every application is accurate, on time, and audit-ready.

What You'll Do

Find the funding

  • Research and identify federal, state, city, foundation, and corporate funding opportunities aligned to our programs and populations.
  • Maintain a prospect pipeline and a grants calendar — deadlines, requirements, and submission windows — so nothing is missed.
  • Assess fit and make the case for which opportunities to pursue.

Write and submit

  • Write clear, compelling, well-organized proposals, letters of inquiry, and applications tailored to each funder.
  • Manage the full submission process, including online portals such as Grants.gov and the NYS Grants Gateway.
  • Develop proposal budgets and narratives in partnership with finance and program staff.

Report and renew

  • Write interim and final grant reports, translating program data and outcomes into clear narratives for funders.
  • Manage renewals and continuation applications, keeping current funders engaged and reporting on time.
  • Coordinate with the program team and compliance support to gather accurate outcomes and financial data.

Build the foundation

  • Maintain a library of boilerplate language, organizational documents, outcomes data, and past proposals.
  • Support cultivation of relationships with program officers and funder contacts.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven grant-writing experience with a track record of securing awards.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills — the ability to make a clear, persuasive, evidence-based case.
  • Experience with both government and foundation grants, including budgets and compliance requirements.
  • Strong research skills and the judgment to identify the right opportunities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the discipline to manage multiple deadlines at once.
  • Ability to translate programs and data into compelling narrative.

Preferred

  • Experience writing for workforce development, education, or youth-serving programs.
  • Familiarity with public workforce and education funding — WIOA, DOL, DCJS, and similar.
  • Experience with Grants.gov, the NYS Grants Gateway, or federal application systems.
  • Comfort turning outcomes data into funder-ready impact stories.
