Position Summary

Myles Davis Protective Services (MDPS) is seeking a motivated and experienced Field Training Supervisor (FTS) to join our leadership team. This critical role is responsible for onboarding, developing, and evaluating newly hired Protective Service Officers in real-world operational environments.

The Field Training Supervisor serves as a mentor, coach, evaluator, and leader—ensuring all new officers demonstrate competency, professionalism, and adherence to MDPS standards before being released to solo assignments. This position plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence, client satisfaction, and officer readiness throughout the organization. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a positive and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

New Officer Training & Evaluation

• Conduct hands-on field training with newly hired officers at assigned locations.
• Instruct officers on post orders, patrol procedures, customer service expectations, report writing, and emergency response protocols.
• Evaluate trainee performance and readiness for independent assignment.
• Provide constructive coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback.
• Complete training documentation and certification recommendations.

Policy & Standards Enforcement

• Ensure trainees understand and follow all MDPS policies, procedures, and operational expectations.
• Reinforce professional conduct, communication standards, and de-escalation techniques.
• Address and correct policy violations immediately.
• Escalate significant performance concerns or disciplinary issues to Operations leadership.
• Ensure compliance with MDPS uniform, appearance, and equipment standards.

Operational Leadership & Support

• Maintain a visible leadership presence while conducting field training.
• Assist with staffing support, break coverage, and operational needs as assigned.
• Model professional officer behavior and best practices at all times.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and management regarding trainee progress and performance.

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and evaluation reports.
• Track trainee development milestones and readiness for independent deployment.
• Document corrective actions, coaching sessions, and improvement plans.
• Communicate regularly with Training and Operations leadership regarding trainee status and operational concerns.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of security, protective services, military, or law enforcement experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a field-based environment.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Formal instructional experience.
• Ability to objectively evaluate performance and maintain accurate documentation.
• Must meet all MDPS credentialing, licensing, and training requirements.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Field Training Officer (FTO), Supervisor, Site Lead, or similar leadership role.
• Training certifications.
• Experience in retail security, shopping center security, or high-visibility deterrence environments.
• Strong report writing and administrative skills.
