The manufacturing supervisor is responsible for overseeing production staff and processes to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality goods and services that meet internal and external customer expectations. This role involves leading operations while prioritizing the health and safety of all team members and ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. Additionally, the supervisor fosters a work environment that embraces change and provides the necessary leadership to implement and achieve business goals effectively.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise production operations to achieve defined production goals while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Establish personnel schedules and manage product lines aligned with business needs, tracking production orders and schedules effectively.
- Train staff on safety and quality standards, ensuring understanding and compliance through ongoing education and performance observation.
- Monitor quality metrics and implement corrective actions for non-conformances, focusing on continuous improvement in production efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to reduce lead times and improve operational workflows, including secondary packaging changeover and defect reduction.
- Enforce safety practices in equipment use and maintain a safe working environment, proactively anticipating and resolving potential issues.
- Collaborate with management to provide input on operational budgets, staffing, and equipment maintenance while managing costs to enhance financial outcomes.
- Communicate business-related issues and opportunities to higher management, ensuring adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices throughout the team.
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Experience in GMP industry is preferred.
