This position serves as a key contributor in supporting HR Compliance programs, processes, and initiatives at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The role provides consultative guidance to HR teams on employment-related compliance matters in the United States and Canada, with a strong focus on supporting complex workforce transformation actions, including reductions in force, and ensuring consistent application of policies and practices. The role requires the ability to navigate complex, sensitive workforce decisions and provide practical guidance in ambiguous and operationally challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage the delivery, implementation, and/or enhancement of HR compliance-led programs, processes, and initiatives to enable compliance with employment law requirements and ensure strategic objectives can be met with speed and scale through the use of technology, automation, and self-service solutions
- Provide consultative guidance and support to HR teams on complex workforce actions, including RIFs, in partnership with Employment Law to support business objectives and ensure consistent application of policies and practices
- Support and manage the completion of assigned projects and deliverables (including project and change management) while ensuring key stakeholders are aligned
- Support HR Compliance obligations during integration of newly acquired companies in partnership with senior team members and cross-functional partners
- Assess and verify HR practices and policies comply with applicable employment laws
- Identify, recommend changes, and update HR Compliance knowledge bases, policies, processes, and other related documentation, and support change management activities which may include training, and establishing HR, manager and employee-facing guidelines and FAQs
- Accurately analyze, interpret and present data, legal requirements, and risk considerations in a manner which promotes efficient stakeholder engagement and alignment
- Perform related duties as may be assigned from time to time
- Bachelor’s degree or higher; educational background in legal, compliance, or related field preferred
Salary : $103,100 - $137,500
