Job Description:
Myers and Company Architectural Metals is seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic / Crane Mechanic to join our team in Basalt, Colorado. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and crane equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation on job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and crane components
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks, cranes, and heavy equipment
- Inspect equipment for safety and operational issues
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and regulatory standards
- Coordinate with operators and management regarding equipment status
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic and/or crane mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy equipment systems
- Experience working with cranes is highly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy parts and tools
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in tight spaces as needed
