What we do impacts the future of technology, and in turn, the way we live our lives tomorrow.Position OverviewThe Manufacturing Engineering Test Technician is responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Engineering Department and Production for product test and initial power-up and will assist in development of process improvements. This position will work directly with assemblers, technicians and engineers and will be responsible for training manufacturing personnel. In addition, this position supports Production and field teams with troubleshooting, debug operations, and sustaining engineering of existing products. Key ResponsibilitiesProvides test & electrical support to the Manufacturing Engineering & Production departmentsApplies electrical engineering and test concepts in low-volume/high-configurability manufacturing environmentCreates and updates engineering and/or manufacturing documentation (cables, schematics, and work instructions) to meet current standardsWorks directly with assemblers, technicians and engineers with a hands-on approach to identify improvement opportunities and root cause problem solveTrains manufacturing personnel on new or updated test processesPerforms in-process (sub-assemblies, finished goods), and other test activities as requiredContributes to continuous improvement of existing test processes and procedures, as well as the development of testing for new productsCarries out initial power-up testing and debugs of finished products on the manufacturing linePerforms other duties as assignedExperience and Qualifications5 years manufacturing technical experience with electro-mechanical assembly, wiring, and testPreferred certificate program or trade school in electrical/electronicsAbility to work hands on with and analyze electro-mechanical assembliesAbility to interpret Drawings & Schematics at a basic levelSkilled in finding route cause in a complex electro-mechanical systemStrong interpersonal, time management, analytical and communication skillsComputer Aided Design (CAD) modeling system (DraftSight/AutoCAD) operation at a basic to intermediate level; SolidWorks Electrical preferredMust have the ability to work in a team environment, work under pressure and adapt to a changing environmentPractical analytical and problem-solving skills for electrical wiring and assembliesExperience in system power-up and functional testProficient use of measuring instruments such as digital multi-meters, oscilloscope, etcPreferred knowledge of J-STD-001, IPC-610 & IPC-620 Attention to detail with minimum supervisionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwareCompensationSalary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Expected pay range is between $60,000.00-$78,000.00 per year.Working Conditions/Physical & Mental DemandsThe physical demands and working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to navigate a manufacturing environment and reach items both high and low and must have the ability to regularly lift and/or maneuver up to 50 pounds. Employee is also frequently required to operate common handheld power tools in a safe manner. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
