Automotive Service Advisor / Writer

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor / Writer to join our fast-paced dealership team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, listen actively to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document their needs for service orders.
• Explain repair and maintenance procedures clearly, providing detailed estimates using auto estimating tools.
• Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission diagnostics to maximize customer value.
• Collaborate closely with technicians to understand vehicle issues, including automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and auto body repairs.
• Manage service write-ups efficiently while maintaining accurate cash handling and recordkeeping for all transactions.
• Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships through excellent customer service.
• Coordinate with parts departments and manage scheduling to optimize workflow and ensure timely vehicle turnaround.

Experience

• Previous dealership experience or auto service management background preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or service technician roles.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and procedures across various systems including transmissions, oil changes, tire service, alignment, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, and diesel engines.
• Proven ability in auto estimating software and sales techniques related to automobile sales and service upselling.
• Excellent customer service skills with a transparent approach to explaining technical issues clearly.
