Job Summary
The Instructional Support Specialist supports educators, families, and administrators within a Christian homeschool hybrid learning center. The main responsibilities of this role are to assist with lesson planning and instruction, provide classroom coverage when instructors are absent, and support administrative and daily operational needs. The position requires flexibility, collaboration, and a passion for supporting diverse learners within our homeschool community. It is a part-time position throughout the rest of this school year with opportunities for growth and development then possible increased hours for the 2026-2027 academic year. Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional & Learning Support
- Assist instructors with lesson planning, curriculum pacing, and preparation of learning materials
- Support small-group and individualized instruction across multiple grade levels
- Provide feedback to teachers regarding planning for varying learning styles and behavioral needs
- Meet with administration, teachers and parents regarding student progress and learning plans
- Provide support in both structured classroom settings and flexible learning environments
Substituting & Classroom Coverage
- Serve as a substitute teacher when lead teachers are unavailable
- Implement provided lesson plans while maintaining consistency with the center’s educational philosophy
- Manage mixed-age or multi-level classrooms effectively
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and engaging learning environment
- Communicate lesson outcomes and student observations to instructors and administrators
Administrative & Center Support
- Assist with attendance tracking, student records, and basic documentation
- Prepare instructional materials, ordering supplies, and organizing classroom resources
- Support scheduling, classroom organization, and center events
- Communicate professionally with staff and homeschool families as needed
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and organizing supplies
Qualifications
- Certified or previously certified educator with classroom teaching experience required
- Experience in leadership roles within an educational setting preferred
- Experience working with homeschool students, mixed-age groups, or small learning centers preferred
- Ability to follow curriculum plans and adapt instruction as needed
- Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills
- Flexible, dependable, and willing to support multiple roles

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14.0 – 21.0 per week
