Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Non-Commercial Driver's License Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. Duties
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles such as box trucks, shuttle buses, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers to transport goods or passengers across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance issues or safety concerns; report any problems promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate schedules, delivery times, and route adjustments.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations diligently to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road.
- Assist with moving heavy equipment or freight within warehouses or job sites as needed, utilizing manual transmission skills or heavy equipment operation experience.
Qualifications
- Valid non-commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving preferred.
- Proven experience operating various commercial vehicles such as box trucks, limousines, flatbeds, or heavy haul trucks.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual methods; warehouse experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members and clients.
- Familiarity with route driving, shuttle driving, school bus driving, or paratransit services is advantageous.
- Ability to operate manual transmissions and handle heavy equipment operation when required.
- Physical ability to move freight or equipment; comfortable working in different environments including yard jockeys or tanker trucks if needed.
