We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. In this key role, you will evaluate commercial roofing opportunities, develop accurate and competitive cost estimates, and prepare professional bids that help us win profitable projects—including service/repair, new construction, and re-roof projects.
You’ll work closely with our sales, project management, and operations teams—as well as clients, architects, and vendors—to ensure every estimate is thorough, realistic, and aligned with industry standards. Ownership is looking for a candidate with **strong leadership skills** who can become an integral part of company growth and management. Previous field experience in roofing (prior to becoming an estimator) is a big plus! We also value a willingness to embrace AI tools and the exciting changes they bring to our industry and processes.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, blueprints, and site conditions to fully understand project scope.
- Conduct on-site roof surveys, inspections, and detailed quantity take-offs for materials, labor, equipment, and accessories.
- Prepare comprehensive, accurate cost estimates and bid proposals, including breakdowns of costs, scope of work, exclusions, timelines, and value-engineering options.
- Solicit and negotiate pricing from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders (clients, owners, consultants) to clarify requirements and present proposals professionally.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, correspondence, and project data using company tools and best practices.
- Stay current on commercial roofing systems, materials, building codes, warranty requirements, and industry trends.
- Support smooth handoff of won projects to the project management team.
**What We’re Looking For (Requirements)**
- 3–5 years of proven experience in commercial roofing estimating (or strong related construction estimating experience).
- In-depth knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, installation methods, and associated costs.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., EDGE, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Xactimate experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and communication skills.
- **Strong leadership skills with the ability to contribute to company growth and management.**
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (with willingness to visit job sites). Mileage reimbursement provided.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to help develop and implement AI tools into our estimating and operational processes.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
