About the Position

As a Remodeler / Handyman, you'll complete a wide variety of residential repair and remodeling projects. One day you may be installing a ceiling fan or repairing drywall, and the next you could be remodeling a bathroom, installing flooring, painting, or building custom trim.

Occasionally, you'll meet with subcontractors on larger projects to help coordinate work, answer questions, and ensure the project continues moving smoothly. While your primary focus will be hands-on craftsmanship, you'll play an important role in delivering a quality finished product and an excellent customer experience.

Every day is different, making this an ideal position for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and working independently while delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities

• Complete residential handyman and remodeling projects with quality craftsmanship and attention to detail
• Occasionally meet with subcontractors on larger projects to help coordinate work and answer questions
• Communicate professionally with customers before, during, and after appointments
• Review daily schedules and job information using our mobile scheduling system
• Arrive on time with the proper tools and materials
• Document work with before-and-after photos
• Collect customer approvals upon project completion
• Identify additional repair opportunities and communicate them to management
• Communicate with management regarding project progress and any issues that arise
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
• Resolve project challenges professionally and communicate updates with customers and management
• Represent My Place Realty & Management professionally at all times

Typical Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Primarily daytime hours
• Most handymen complete 1–3 jobs per day depending on project size
• Overtime opportunities may be available
• Flexible scheduling when possible

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional residential remodeling or handyman experience preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and subcontractors when needed
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• Reliable truck or van capable of transporting tools and materials
• Own professional-grade tools
• Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the day
• Authorized to work in the United States

• Framing
• Drywall installation and repair
• Interior and exterior painting
• Trim and finish carpentry
• Door and window installation
• Flooring (LVP, laminate, hardwood, tile)
• Cabinet installation
• Countertop installation
• Tile backsplashes
• Bathroom remodeling
• Shower tile installation
• Basic plumbing
• Basic electrical
• Basic HVAC
• Ceiling fan and light fixture installation
• Siding and exterior repairs
• Deck repairs and construction
• General home maintenance
• Punch-list items
• Property maintenance and rental turns

Preferred Qualifications

• Bathroom remodeling experience
• Kitchen remodeling experience
• Experience working alongside subcontractors on residential remodeling projects
• Ability to read scopes of work, plans, and material lists
• Ability to estimate additional work when requested
• Strong attention to detail
• Clean, professional appearance
