Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Independent Optometrist, based in Lexington, SC. The Independent Optometrist will be responsible for providing high-quality primary eye care, conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and managing ocular diseases, and prescribing corrective lenses as needed. The role involves collaborating with the pharmacy’s healthcare team to ensure top-tier care for patients, educating patients on eye health, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose and manage eye-related conditions
- Proficiency in prescribing and fitting corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate and compliant patient records
- Licensed optometrist in the state of South Carolina
- Commitment to patient-centered care and a passion for improving the eye health of the community
- Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems is a plus
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
