Role Description The Lingerie Buyer is a full-time, on-site role based in San Antonio, TX. This role is responsible for planning, selecting, and purchasing lingerie assortments that align with My Melrose’s brand, customer preferences, and price strategy. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing sales and inventory data, identifying trends, and working with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. The Lingerie Buyer collaborates with merchandising, planning, and store operations teams to develop seasonal assortments, manage replenishment, and ensure optimal product mix across stores. The role also involves visiting stores, assessing product performance and presentation, adjusting buy plans as needed, and maintaining accurate product and purchase records within internal systems.
Qualifications
- Merchandising and buying skills, including assortment planning, product selection, and pricing strategy for lingerie or related categories.
- Strong analytical skills for sales, margin, and inventory analysis, with the ability to use data to inform buying decisions.
- Vendor management and negotiation skills to build relationships, secure favorable terms, and maintain reliable supply.
- Knowledge of fashion and intimate apparel trends, customer preferences in value-focused retail, and competitive marketplace awareness.
- Proficiency with retail systems and tools (e.g., Excel, merchandising or ERP platforms) and attention to detail in product and order management.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to partner with merchandising, planning, and store teams.
- 2 year experience in retail buying, merchandising, or product management; lingerie or apparel category experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to work on-site in San Antonio, TX, travel to stores as needed, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
