Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair, ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy, including cash handling, giving correct change, and balancing registers at the end of shifts.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, answering questions about menu items, and offering personalized recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations, seating areas, and equipment.
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as needed during busy periods.
- Manage time effectively during peak hours to serve multiple customers quickly without compromising quality or service standards.
- Support team members in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere by working collaboratively in a fast-paced retail food environment.
- Uphold health regulations related to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is highly preferred; enthusiasm for coffee culture is a plus!
- Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing simple calculations related to sales or food prep.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is desirable.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while maintaining energy and enthusiasm throughout shifts.
