Position: Co-Director / Director-in-Training
We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual who is newly certified—or in the process of certification—to join our leadership team. This is a growth opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience working alongside our current Director.
Whether you're finishing school or just starting your journey in early childhood education leadership, we want to support your development while maintaining the high standards of our center.
Key Responsibilities
You will work collaboratively with the current Director and gradually take on more leadership duties. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting in day-to-day operations of the center
- Jumping in the classroom as needed
- Supervising and mentoring teachers, assistant teachers, and aides
- Organizing and supporting center events and family engagement activities
- Supporting compliance with EEC (Department of Early Education and Care) regulations
- Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new staff
- Meeting with parents regarding their child's development or center policies
- Conducting monthly classroom and staff observations
- Assisting in reviewing curriculum and implementing improvements
- Coordinating staff schedules and managing time-off requests
- Helping maintain the center budget
- Responding to emergencies and arranging medical attention per EEC guidelines
- Promoting a caring and inclusive environment for children, families, and staff
What We're Looking For
- EEC Director Certification (or in progress)
- Desire to grow into a leadership role in early education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, dependable, and self-motivated
- Passion for working with young children in a nurturing and educational setting
- Ability to lift and care for children up to 50 pounds
- Able to speak English and Spanish
