Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the development and care of children in a nurturing environment, assisting lead teachers with daily activities, classroom management, and ensuring a safe and engaging space for young learners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess relevant experience in childcare or early childhood education.
Responsibilities
- Assist with supervising children during play, learning activities, meals, and nap times
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment
- Help implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development
- Provide attentive care to infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing inclusive care
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Collaborate with lead teachers and other staff to plan and execute daily schedules
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and daily activities

Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or similar settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and foster positive interactions among children
- First aid certification is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children
- Classroom management skills to maintain an organized and safe learning environment
- Background in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous
- Prior nannying or babysitting experience is beneficial for understanding child care dynamics
