Responsibilities

- Implement lesson plans, adapt activities as needed, and provide clear instructions to students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Support early childhood education principles by fostering developmentally appropriate activities for preschool and elementary students.
- Maintain classroom routines, organize materials, and ensure a smooth transition between activities throughout the day.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to promote positive relationships and address any concerns promptly.
- Assist with classroom management techniques tailored for students with special needs, including those with autism or in special education programs.
- Support literacy education, math instruction, and other subject areas by providing tutoring or supplemental assistance when necessary.
- Uphold school policies on safety, confidentiality, and student well-being at all times.
- Document student progress or behavioral issues as required by the school’s procedures.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as preschools, private schools, or classrooms is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with early childhood development principles and techniques for working with young children.
- Experience working with students with diverse needs including special education populations or those on the autism spectrum.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, parents, and students.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and grade levels.
- Background in literacy education, math instruction, Montessori methods or preschool experience is advantageous.
