What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accounting Analyst position at My Ideal Recruiter?
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing, multi-unit organization with significant ongoing investment in new locations and facility improvements. They are adding a Senior Accounting Analyst to strengthen fixed asset accounting, improve financial visibility, and support leadership with proactive analysis. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys a mix of accounting, cross-functional partnership, and building clearer reporting.
What this role looks like day to day
You will be the go-to person for the fixed asset lifecycle, from tracking projects in progress through placing assets into service and maintaining clean support for close and audit. You will also help shape the way the business reports results, including KPI tracking and management-level deliverables. The work touches treasury and cash reporting as well, so you will get broad exposure across the finance function.
Key focus areas
- Keeping fixed asset activity organized and accurate (capital projects, additions, retirements, and reconciliations)
- Managing depreciation schedules and ensuring balances tie out properly each month
- Supporting cost segregation efforts for major projects in partnership with external tax resources
- Helping bring Finance and Accounting together during close, forecasting, and budgeting (especially around capex and depreciation impacts)
- Producing monthly reporting and meaningful variance/KPI insights for leaders
- Assisting with cash visibility reporting and select banking or covenant support as needed
- Improving processes and creating consistency in recurring reporting
What they want to see
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
- Around 2–5 years of experience in accounting/finance with real ownership of deliverables
- Solid comfort with fixed assets (and bonus points for cost segregation exposure)
- Strong Excel skills (you can work quickly and accurately with large datasets)
- Experience with an ERP system (NetSuite/Oracle/SAP/Sage Intacct/PeopleSoft, etc.)
- CPA/CMA (or working toward it) is a plus, not a must
Location & schedule
- Onsite - Midtown Atlanta
- Full-time role with standard weekday hours and heavier lift around month-end
