JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: MY House Redemption Apparel and Thrift Shop Assistant
REPORTS TO: Business Manager
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, part-time
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
LOCATION: 300 North Willow Street Wasilla AK 99654
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
General front counter cashier duties and services. Responsibilities include daily opening and closing protocols of the shop. Interface with donors, clients, interns and customers daily. Assist in the processing of donated items including assisting customers with loading and unloading of donated items. Assist with the rotation of items during seasonal changes and or new displays changes. Possible assistance with social media platform. Assist in all aspects of running a successful retail thrift shop. Processes include cleaning, sorting, tagging, and displaying donated items. Maintain store cleanliness and presentability, including vacuuming, dusting, and tidying to ensure a customer ready appearance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general equivalency degree
- If in recovery must be in remission for two (2) year and working a program of recovery
- Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal background check
- Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License and insurable under My House vehicle insurance
- Must be able to physically perform basic duties of handling donated items.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience providing customer service and information in a retail setting.
- Experience with social media platforms
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
