Direct Care Service Provider
Job Title: Direct Care Service Provider/DSP-Direct Service Professional
Compensation: $22/hour for this position
Bonus: $500 bonus after 90 days/40 hour work weeks of documented Direct Care Services in good standing
Employment type: Full-time/Part-Time
Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
Schedule: Day shift
Work Location: In person
Location: North Pole, Alaska
My Horizon is seeking an employee to provide direct care for an individual experiencing Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and physical disabilities in Home and Community Based Waiver Services to include Supported Living, Day Habilitation, and occasional Respite care in the North Pole city area.
The employee we seek must have a positive attitude, great work ethic, be honest, on time, reliable, and a team player. We believe that each person with intellectual or physical disabilities wants to be successful, just like anyone else. Our role is to provide enjoyable skill building experiences, creating a positive learning environment for living skills, social skills, exercise, nutrition, computer skills, arts and crafts, and self-care, in a safe and supportive way.
Transporting this individual is not required.
For working with other individuals at My Horizon, a safe and reliable automobile and proof of insurance is a condition of employment
Employee must be on time, maintain regular attendance, and have a positive attitude, no exceptions
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a HS Diploma, GED, or be able to pass a test given by the Program Administrator.
- Be able to pass a fingerprint criminal background check.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to this individual.
- Work on existing goals and objectives with individual and ensure the well-being and safety of the participant.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with the participant.
- Possess the ability to follow instructions and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of participant information.
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
In addition:
- Experience is desired, but not required.
- Experience in using the Therap system is a plus, but not required.
