What are the responsibilities and job description for the In Home Caregiver/Community Support Staff position at My Home Caregiver?
Looking for a dedicated compassionate individual to become a caregiver for home and community activities to help care for an charming man with a developmental disability. He needs some TLC with some medical needs. No skilled nursing required. He is a young adult, age 40, who needs assistance with transfers and occasional lifting. He is very small in stature. He is loving, affectionate and presents himself with limited communication skills which can be challenging at times.
Job description includes:
· Attend to ADL’s
· Administer medications
· Community outings
· Light house keeping
Full or part time position is available. Must be an active, organized person. Experience in the developmental disability field helpful along with some medical background. Hourly rate will be determined according to experience. The position is being offered through a NM Self Directed Waiver service, Mi Via, which is facilitated by the family.
Required:
Individual must have the ability to pass a background check, have dependable transportation along with valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and vehicle registration.
Individual is required to assist client with activities of daily living, including bath, shaving, restroom, and meal preparation.
Individual must be able to take the client out into the community to support the client's social needs and interests. This individual will be the client's representative in the community and must have a friendly and respectful disposition.
Individual must be able to manage medications and assist with other medical needs.
Individual must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. on occasion.
Individual must assist with light daily housekeeping.
Individual must be able to reliably report to work on a regular schedule.
Desired:
Some medical background and/or experience.
Experience with the developmentally disabled population.
Would prefer a part time person who can offer some flexibility.
