What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher position at My Father's Arrows?
HIRING NOW — My Father’s Arrows Ministry is looking for responsible Christians (living according to Biblical standards and My Father’s Arrows Statement of Faith), that identify with our core values and mission.
***This position is for primarily day shift (8:30am-4:30pm) Monday - Friday for our girls part of the program.
We need individuals capable of utilizing a balance of nurturing and loving approach, healthy professional boundaries, and structure, to provide a safe, therapeutic setting for boys and girls deeply impacted by trauma.
The teachers here play a key role in our holistic philosophy of care by using a team-oriented, trauma informed approach in the care of our children. Our challenge as a team is to minister to the "whole" child. A calm and controlled demeanor is absolutely essential for this ministerial role. As a teacher, you will teach and care for a small group of boys or girls, age 7 to 17, to foster their character development, spiritual growth, emotional growth, social skills, and help them learn valuable life skills.
We are a working ranch, and our children and staff work with horses daily and have a lot of outdoor activities. Experience with horses, gardening, camping, and/or coaching is highly favored. Previous experience in the military, corrections, education, mental health, and/or special needs care is very helpful as well.
If you're the kind of person who can see the broken heart of a child in need, and pursue them relationally and professionally with consistency, you're the kind of person we're looking for.
We're looking for team members who feel God's call to serve with children. This is a distinctively ministerial role. We are a Christian, faith-based organization who care for children who have been deeply affected by trauma through abuse, neglect, abandonment, or rejection.
