My Dentist Friend utilizes the latest dental technology, practices all fields of dentistry and utilizes the latest dental technology including 3D CBCT and 3D scanners.
Job Type: Full-time ( 8 hours, Monday to Thursday and Friday 8:30am-1pm )
Position Overview
Are you looking to break into the dental field and learn from the ground up? We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic Sterilization Technician / Dental Assistant Trainee to join our dynamic dental team.
In this dual role, you will be the backbone of our clinical flow—ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency. You will directly support our dental assistants and doctors while receiving hands-on training to transition into a full-time Dental Assistant (DA) role. If you are a team player with a strong work ethic and a passion for patient care, we will train you on the rest!
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Sterilization Support
- Sterilization: Manage the sterilization area; clean, decontaminate, pack, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Room Turnaround: Assist Dental Assistants in breaking down treatment rooms post-procedure and setting them up efficiently for the next patient.
- Inventory & Stacking: Monitor clinical supplies in treatment rooms and sterilization areas, restocking them as needed.
Dental Assistant Training
- Shadow & Learn: Actively participate in hands-on training to learn dental terminology, instrumentation, four-handed dentistry, and chairside assisting techniques.
- Clinical Assistance: Gradually take on basic chairside duties under the direct supervision of experienced DAs and the Dentist as your training progresses.
Administrative & Front Desk Support
- Patient Coordination: Assist the front desk team with greeting patients, answering phones, and checking patients in/out during peak times.
- Scheduling: Learn the dental software to schedule appointments, manage schedule flow, and conduct routine patient follow-ups (e.g., appointment reminders, recall calls).
- General Support: Perform other duties as assigned to ensure a smooth, cohesive office operation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: No prior dental experience required but preferred. We are fully prepared to train the right candidate. (Any prior sterilization or medical experience is a plus).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Attributes: * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety/cleanliness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, eager-to-learn attitude with the ability to take direction well.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- X ray license not required but a plus.
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 6pm; Friday -8:30am to 1:30pm
- Day shift
