What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Employment Services Program Coordinator position at My Day Counts?
Duties:
- Develop and implement employment programs and initiatives to support the delivery of all authorized program services to participants
- Coordinate and manage employment services, including job placement, job coaching, and vocational training
- Build and maintain relationships with employers to create job opportunities for individuals with disabilities
- Provide support(s) necessary to achieve participant job retention and employer satisfaction
- Conduct assessments to determine individuals' skills, interests, and employment goals
- Provide guidance and support to individuals in developing resumes, preparing for interviews, and improving job readiness skills
- Directly support the goals in each participant’s Person Centered Plan, particularly those relative to community employment
- Produce all required documentation in a professional and timely manner including case notes, reports, and new participant paperwork and maintain current case files
- Advocate for needs, services and supports that will enhance the quality of life for participants
- Maintain positive relations with all stakeholders while professionally representing My Day Counts
- Manage effective communication with the Regional Center of Orange County
- Develop a weekly and monthly calendar to ensure job coaching hours are being met and meetings are scheduled on time
- Maintain a working knowledge of the departments case load
- Collaborate to address the participant’s and team’s needs
- Schedule and attend meetings
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to enhance employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities
- Monitor program outcomes and make recommendations for program improvements
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies and agency policies
Skills/Requirements:
- Associates Degree in human services, behavioral science or related field; or equivalent experience may be substituted for educational requirements on a year for year basis
- Minimum one year experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in the field of social work
- Minimum one year experience in case management or coordination highly preferred
- Strong administrative skills, including program development, budgeting, and record keeping
- Excellent relationship management skills to effectively engage with employers, individuals with disabilities, and community partners
- Ability to provide guidance to staff members involved in employment services
- Strong program management skills to oversee multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
- Must be able to work effectively in a team dynamic as well as independently with autonomy
- Demonstrate effective time management
- Must maintain flexibility and work well with distractions and interruptions
- Have the ability to prioritize, organize, and be detail-oriented
- Have advanced writing, typing, and computer skills (competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) to produce professional documentation
- Must be at least 18 years of age; have United States citizenship or evidence of a valid work permit
- Pass a criminal record investigation and drug screening and health screening
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License, a DMV report satisfactory to the agency’s insurance carrier, and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage as required by law
