What are the responsibilities and job description for the After-School Coding Instructor (Part-time) position at My Coding Place?
Come join us to impact your community! We are looking for after-school teachers to teach students basic coding/logic in the community.
Now hiring a fun and creative after-school teacher for our growing after school programs in the Austin area! Responsible, talented, creative and enthusiastic coding teacher needed to teach classes to children. Must be available select days during the week from 2:30-4:30. Teaching opportunities are also available on Saturday morning.
Our STEM and coding classes take place at schools, community centers and our studio in Austin. They are 45-60 minutes long for ages 7 to adult. Classes can incorporate coding, games, and problem-solving. Must be willing to travel to different locations in the Austin metro area to teach classes. Must have reliable transportation and be dependable (arrive before class start time) and professional.
This is a good opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping kids think logically. Positive interaction with students, parents and school faculty is expected. We're looking for someone with good communication skills who can engage students and who replies promptly to emails, texts and calls for scheduling purposes.
Opportunities for additional hours may include:
- Studio Workshops/ Classes/ Special Events (evening or weekends)
- New program training
- Spring, Summer, Winter Break Camps
Preferred Qualifications:
· Working history with children ages 7 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)
· Experience with computer programming or technology
Who We Are
My Coding Place is a coding studio with a physical location in Austin, TX that opened in 2018. We teach coding to kids and adults to solve problems with digital solutions! We specialize in teaching problem-solving and critical thinking through coding and STEM. Our teachers introduce students to hot topics like chess, robotics, Python, digital art, Web development, 3D printing, and more, using a variety of platforms to train the next generation of innovators.

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, our instructors typically work between 6-12 hours per week, with seasonal camp weeks ranging from 15-25 hours a week

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 15 per week
