Duties
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot various manufacturing machines including milling machines, lathes, stamping presses, flexo presses, press brake machines, and CAM programming equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to prevent downtime and ensure safety compliance.
- Handle materials efficiently within the factory setting, including materials handling, fabrication, tooling setup, and packaging finished products for shipment.
- Operate hand tools and welding equipment as needed for fabrication or assembly tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members on the assembly line to meet production targets while ensuring quality control standards are consistently met.
- Assist with warehouse activities such as inventory management and materials storage when required.
- Document production data accurately in logs and reports for process improvement tracking.
Skills
- Strong blueprint reading skills with an understanding of GD&T principles.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of fabrication processes including welding, stamping presses, press brake machines, and tooling setups.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools.
- Hands-on experience with factory operations including materials handling, packaging, assembly line work, and warehouse procedures.
- Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and best practices in a manufacturing facility environment.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for fabrication or assembly tasks.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machinery issues promptly.
- Prior factory experience is preferred; certification in forklift operation is a plus but not required.
