About The Role
MWH is currently seeking an experienced Pipefitter to support a critical water treatment plant construction project in Johnstown, CO
Essential Functions
- Adhere to the MWH safety program.
- Coordinate with mechanical superintendent to configure pipe system layout.
- Select proper pipes, hangers, and other hydraulic cylinders.
- Assemble materials at job site.
- Select type and size of pipe.
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipes according to pipe system specs.
- Use saws and cutting torches to craft proper sizes.
- Secure pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
- Secure pipes to tanks.
- Set Process Equipment (pumps, mixers, heat exchangers).
- Repair and maintain pipe systems and components.
- Resolve problems such as obstructions or holes.
- Remove water from flooded manholes or basements.
- Repair cracks and leaks.
- Interprets plans, blueprints, and sketches of proposed structures in terms of the relevant specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Experience with flanged pipe and fittings.
- Previous work includes HDPE, Ductile, PVC and copper pipe.
- Maintains a constant drive to achieve production outputs in order to meet targets.
- Required to communicate information, ideas, directions, with the capability to perform the task or project discussed.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with utmost regard to safety.
- Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.
- If requested, the applicant shall furnish a written statement from a medical doctor that he/she has had a physical examination in connection with the application and are physically fit to perform the work.
- The anticipated hourly rate for this position is between $25-45/hr., based on experience.
