Aesthetician

Position Summary: Responsible for analyzing and providing customized skincare treatments to a variety of cosmetic dermatology patients. This position will provide aesthetic services, procedures, and recommend retail products to help improve and maintain the health of a patient’s skin.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provide various skin treatments for patients that may include:
  • Aesthetic procedures that require physician oversight such as Photorejuvenation, CoolSculpting, PRP and Microneedling.
  • Laser hair removal, body and facial hair
  • Chemical Peels
  • Microdermabrasion
  • Various other cosmetic procedures
• Prepares patients for treatment, positions instruments and equipment, interviews patients, explains procedures and treatments to patient to ensure understanding.
• Observes each patient, records significant conditions and reactions
• Records all pertinent information in patient’s chart, accurately codes all services provided.
• Consults with patients regarding skin care needs, procedures, outcomes, problems, etc.
• Assists providers as needed with patient’s skin care
• Oversees and provides skin care and cosmetic products for patients.
• Maintains inventory of products and reports on sales of products
• Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with Health Information Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA)
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and excellent customer service.
• Participate in department or unit quality improvement activities.
• Responsible for greeting and assisting customers upon walk-in.
• Perform front desk duties as needed.
  
  

Experience Requirements:

• Experience working in a medical setting; dermatology or plastic surgery preferred

Education, Licensure & Certification Requirements:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited program
• Maintain appropriate state licensure
• Current CPR certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

• Ability to communicate in an active multi-office environment
• Ability to efficiently operate all job-related office equipment
• Ability to follow or provide verbal and written instructions
• Basic to intermediate computer operation
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
