Job Summary

This position requires the employee to stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform without reasonable accommodation: walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, twisting, and lifting a minimum 55 lbs. or more. Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include: heat, cold, dust, strong odors, and loud noises with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Essential Job Function
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical machinery, including changing oil and topping off oil on designated machines.
- Drain and scrap trim rings.
- Maintain wire for each machine (bring in spare wire as needed).
- Maintain West Pharm headers (ball blows, die changes, 3rd punch changes, dimensionally maintaining parts, checking parts morning afternoon and evening before leaving for the day and setting counter).
- Operate mechanical machinery (cold heading machines) for production purposes, as needed.
- Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness.
- Performs equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
- Complete installations and troubleshooting on production machinery.
- Determine and order parts required for replacement.
- Communicate timeline of maintenance and repairs to Production Manager and Engineering Manager.
- Logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system.
- Follows all safety procedures.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or machine specs.

- High School Diploma required. Technical/Trade School in mechanics, preferred.
- 1-2 years of machine mechanics experience.
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing (machine shop) environment, specifically in precision metal components.
