Carrier Compliance Clerk
Job Summary:
The Carrier Compliance Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all carriers working with the brokerage meet regulatory, safety, and company standards. This role supports the onboarding, monitoring, and ongoing compliance of carriers to reduce risk and maintain operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process new carrier onboarding applications
- Verify carrier documentation including insurance, authority, and safety ratings
- Ensure compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
- Monitor carrier status for changes in insurance, authority, or safety scores
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in internal systems
- Communicate with carriers to obtain missing or updated documentation
- Identify and flag high-risk carriers based on compliance standards
- Assist in audits and compliance reporting
- Collaborate with operations and brokerage teams to approve or reject carriers
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or compliance is a plus
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations and carrier vetting tools (e.g., SAFER, Carrier411) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze data and identify potential risks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
