Duties

• Prepare surfaces meticulously by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
• Use hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and scaffolding safely and efficiently to apply paint, stains, or coatings on walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, masonry, and industrial surfaces
• Read blueprints and schematics accurately to determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and specific application techniques for each job
• Perform construction estimating tasks to assess material needs and project timelines for residential and commercial painting projects
• Execute restoration work by matching existing finishes through color matching techniques and specialized painting methods
• Install fixtures, trim carpentry elements, or perform basic carpentry tasks such as framing or remodeling as needed during projects
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites or renovation areas

Skills

• Extensive experience with residential painting, commercial painting, construction painting, and industrial coating techniques
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to execute precise work aligned with project specifications
• Strong knowledge of color theory to select appropriate hues for aesthetic appeal and functional purposes
• Skilled in using hand tools (brushes, rollers), power tools (spray guns, sanders), scaffolding equipment, welding tools for specialized applications
• Familiarity with plastering, stucco application, masonry finishing, concrete finishing, and caulking for surface preparation and repair
• Ability to perform renovation tasks including fixture installation and remodeling projects with precision
• Basic math skills for measurements and estimating material quantities accurately; experience with construction estimating software is a plus
• Knowledge of safety standards related to construction sites; handyman experience is advantageous for versatile project support
• Experience in maintenance work involving troubleshooting surface issues or applying protective coatings effectively
