What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workers' Compensation Paralegal position at MVP Law?
Our Paralegals assist our worker's compensation attorneys with managing billable work, scheduling, file coordination, opening and/or closing files, summarizing documents for review and daily organizational needs relative to our cases in order to allow our attorneys to use their billable time effectively. Our Paralegals operate at a high degree of technical proficiency, have a passion for organization and efficiency and are solution-oriented. Candidates should work well both independently and within a team to assist our attorneys in managing the billable work of the firm.

- Responsible for all billable tasks: medical records, discovery, etc.
- Drafts various legal documents for attorney review
- Requests, follows-up on, and organizes medical record files
- E-File documents within appropriate court filing systems (Kansas City)
- Manages and organizes case files
- Researches and analyzes case data
- Drafts discovery
- Communicates with outside counsel, physicians, court personnel and other experts
- Bills time contemporaneously
- Assists attorneys with case-related requests
- Responds to record and legal documentation requests
- Answers phone calls, takes messages or transfers calls to appropriate parties
- Works with highly confidential information and always maintains utmost confidentiality
- Acts in a stewardship capacity for MVP, works as a genuine, confident, functional member of the team, is hardworking with the ability to be innovative and firm focused in alignment with our core values
