MVP Disc Sports is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations in our fast-paced production manufacturing facility. This role oversees equipment reliability, preventive maintenance programs, facility systems, and a growing team of maintenance technicians. The ideal candidate has strong leadership experience, a hands-on technical background, and the ability to keep production running smoothly through strategic planning and effective communication.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and develop the maintenance team across multiple shifts.
- Assign daily tasks, provide guidance, and ensure high-quality and safe work.
- Create training plans and cross-train technicians to build a stronger team.
- Maintain organized tooling, parts inventory, and maintenance supplies.
- Oversee vendor and contractor coordination for external repairs or specialized work.
Preventive Maintenance Program Management
- Build, implement, and continuously improve a preventive maintenance (PM) program.
- Ensure routine PM tasks, inspections, and calibrations are completed on schedule.
- Track PM completion rates and address recurring issues through root-cause analysis.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment history, and technical documentation.
Equipment & Facility Systems Oversight
- Troubleshoot and repair production-critical equipment, including motors and drives; pneumatic and hydraulic systems; chillers, dryers, and TCUs; conveyors; material handling systems; and applicable automated components.
- Manage and maintain facility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, and water/cooling systems.
- Prioritize work based on production schedules and downtime impact.
New Equipment Assembly & Commissioning
- Assist in the assembly, installation, and commissioning of new or custom-built equipment developed in-house.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Automation, and Production teams to ensure proper setup, integration, and documentation.
- Provide feedback during equipment development to support long-term maintainability and reliability.
Safety, Compliance & Standards
- Ensure maintenance activities follow all OSHA and MVP safety guidelines, including LOTO.
- Conduct or support safety audits and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance documentation for equipment, inspections, and facility systems.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and proper PPE use.
Communication & Cross-Department Collaboration
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Maintenance, Production, Automation, and Quality teams.
- Provide clear communication on repair status, downtime impact, and project timelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and long-term equipment reliability planning.
Qualifications
- 3–4 years of maintenance management or lead technician experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience developing or overseeing a preventive maintenance program.
- Strong hands-on expertise with industrial electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment documentation.
- Experience supervising or training maintenance staff.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Experience with maintenance tracking or CMMS software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in plastics, injection molding, or similar industrial manufacturing.
- Familiarity with automation or machine upgrades and modifications.
- Experience coordinating maintenance across multi-shift operations.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to support occasional off-hours repair needs.
- Experience assisting with assembly or installation of custom equipment is a plus.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, on-site role within a production manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to industrial machinery, noise levels, and safety-controlled areas.
- May require after-hours availability for emergencies or critical downtime situations.
