Associate

MVAR Media LLC
Washington, DC Full Time
POSTED ON 6/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/28/2026

The Associate is both an account manager and producer, working closely with the whole MVAR team to ensure that deadlines are met, materials are tracked and saved, billing and logistics run smoothly, and ads are produced to the highest possible standard. The most successful Associate is not only organized and highly detail oriented, but also adds creative and strategic value to the work product.

MVAR endeavors to create an inclusive and supportive work environment while operating on the hours and timelines that successful political campaigns demand. The Associate can expect to juggle many tasks simultaneously, adapt to client and company needs, and work campaign hours, especially during the busiest times of the election cycle.

The Associate will be assigned to the firm’s highest profile races, and those races will be the primary responsibility – however, the Associate may be asked to help across other accounts and with administrative tasks as needed.

Below is a list of responsibilities – this is not an exhaustive list of tasks that may come up. Our philosophy at MVAR is this: never let logistics get in the way of doing the right thing. Our job is to make sure we always deliver what our clients need to be successful, and everyone on the team is committed to working together toward that goal.

Following/Tracking Campaigns

  • Join and observe weekly and other scheduled calls/meetings
  • Help ensure Partners are prepared with the latest media planning, competitives, spot trackers and other materials needed for calls.
  • Take notes about key developments, deadlines, etc.
  • Save important documentation to MVAR’s file server – polling, research, media planning, etc.
  • Track deadlines, shoot dates, production timelines etc.

  Production

  • Assist with script writing, and ideally start drafting scripts on your own for review and in collaboration with Partners.
  • Manage all aspects of post production for assigned projects, at the direction of and in collaboration with Partners, Project Manager and Editors – these include but are not limited to:
  • Creating and tracking jobs in internal systems
  • Booking time and coordinating with post production vendors
  • Working directly with editors as the producer – collecting assets, giving guidance and collaborating on creative ideas, ensuring political factors are taken into account, and tracking down anything the editors need (disclaimer, citations, archive clips, etc). Note that we have an Art Director, Lead Editor and trusted in- house editor/motion artists who add great value to our ads – producers can best help shape the look and feel of spots through collaboration rather than dictation.
  • Work with Production Coordinator, SVP for Campaigns, and field producers on anything needed in preparation for film shoots for assigned races.
  • May occasionally have the opportunity to advance film shoots, which is typically 3-5 days on-location in preparation for the shoot and day-of line production.
  • Assist in gathering and entering postproduction billing into our system and coordinate with CFO and/or staff to ensure that billing is turned around on deadline.
  • Coordinate with Director of Media Operations on spot delivery and quality control.
  • Assist with archiving and tracking of campaign and production materials.

What We Offer
